Code of Ethics

I subscribe to the BACP ethical framework, however, inserted below are my additions :

• I will offer a safe space, free of judgment and prejudice, for the client to explore every possible solution to achieve their goal/goals. I have a duty of care to report to Local Authorities should I feel that a client is a danger to themselves or others.​

• I will signpost clients to appropriate services should their requirements fall out of my remit. I will not give advice but offer space to explore options and help facilitate change

• All information discussed will be kept confidential and not shared with anyone. I will only keep brief notes of the session, but once a contract has ended, I will destroy the notes in accordance with my insurance requirements.

• I will treat all clients and potential clients with absolute dignity, confidentiality, respect, and unconditional positive regard as free and equal individuals. I will upkeep my level of professionalism with continued professional development, this may include but not be restricted to, going on further courses, reading, listening to podcasts, and attending seminars and conferences.​​​
